Relief

That is what a lot of people are wanting, especially when it comes to bug bites!

Summer is such a wonderful season.

The sun is out, everything is in bloom, and the winter blues melt away.

Unfortunately, this is also the perfect time for a bug's life, and part of the ecosystem up north is the infamous black fly.

Surprisingly to me, the mosquitoes seem to be a lot more abundant up here in the Adirondack region as well compared to the South. It is a bug-biting haven in this area.

Our camping trips and evenings spent outside have resulted in plenty of bites. Mosquito bites go away rather quickly compared to black fly bites. The black flies leave a large welt along with a pimple-like bump that itches and is very sore at the same time. These bites last over two weeks in most cases. It is fairly annoying and definitely not something fun for a baby to experience.

We have tried all kinds of preventive measures, and the reality is that it is nearly impossible to avoid becoming the victim of one of these bloodthirsty little fliers. We even had a black fly in the house one morning.

He bit me while I was washing dishes. It is just part of life.

Luckily,

my sweet friend over at Senselessly Random Homestead sent us a bug bite stick.

I was so fed up with itching that even as I walked to the mailbox, I was scratching. I opened the mailbox, saw the package inside, and didn't even make it back to the house before tearing open the envelope and putting some on the bites.

Relief.

Instantly, I wasn't itching anymore.

That little tube has brought a lot of peace of mind and comfort to us over the past week and a half.

Why We Love It

It is safe for our little one.

Emerald is currently 9 months old, and with a clean ingredient list, we are happy to use this on her bites.

This bite stick uses simple ingredients we recognize and trust. The calendula and plantain are two herbs that have long been used to soothe irritated skin after bug bites and outdoor adventures.

It's become a staple in our bag and camping gear. I practically won't go out the door without it.

The Stick

The application is super convenient. I love how it comes in stick form. It makes it super easy to simply remove the cap, rub it on the bug bite, and keep your hands clean.

This is especially convenient with a baby who is constantly on the move or when we are walking a trail. Another bonus is that it is colorless, which means clothing won't be stained either.

Final Thoughts

Living in the Adirondacks means spending as much time outdoors as possible. It also means dealing with mosquitoes, black flies, and all the other little biting bugs that come with the territory.

This bug bite stick has earned a permanent place in our camping gear, diaper bag, and medicine cabinet. The simple ingredients, easy application, and fast relief have made it one of those products we reach for again and again.

If you spend time gardening, camping, hiking, homesteading, or simply enjoying the outdoors, this is definitely worth keeping on hand.

A quick note:

We received this bug bite stick as a gift to try and share our honest thoughts. We were not paid for this post, and as always, I only share products I genuinely enjoy using.
