Located in SW Virginia I have personally known Sunnie for a few years now; she is incredibly compassionate and gentle in fragile moments.
While I haven't personally experienced her in her doula role I have zero doubts about her abilities.
Here is a short interview with questions I asked.
Her website covers all of the details about different packages, financial options, and more.
What are your favorite essential oils for the labor process?
Sunnie: "To be honest, when it comes to labor, it’s really not about me. I try to make it comfortable for mum more than anything! I will ask mum for their favorite scents and go from there."
Which crystals do you feel help during birth?
Sunnie: "As I embark more on my healing journey, I realize that I am the crystal. I do not mean this in a cocky way, but we all embody the essence and energy of each crystal. With that being said, I ask my Angels to protect everyone in the room, guide me, and fill the room with peace and love."
What is one piece of advice you would give mom when she is in transition and feels she can't do it anymore?
Sunnie: "I remind mum that her body is made for this transition. I acknowledge her pain, but also remind her that she is stronger. I normally assist her with deep breathing techniques and positions to descend baby."
What is your favorite part of the birthing process?
Sunnie: "My favorite parts would be seeing the baby make its way through the birth canal, and when baby is in mum’s arms."
What got you into this type of "work?"
Sunnie: "The ultimate goal is to become an OB-Gyn, but I became a Doula to “get my feet wet” in the industry.
At times, care tends to be missing from modern births. A lot of the nurses and doctors do not listen to the patients, and just want to get the birth over with, which can be very inhumane and disheartening."
